Custom Expression for Relative Time Period

Are there any plans to extend the functionality of the Relative Time Period report item to include custom expressions? Currently you are limited to only what is available in the drop down for 'Function' and 'Expression' in the Relative Time Period dialog with no option to specify a custom expression for computing values based on time periods. This would be a very useful feature to add the ability to create custom calculations/expressions for relative time periods!
