Page N of M - Not Working

Hi All, 
 
I am using version 3.7.2 and I am trying to get Page N of M in the bottom right corner. I am running from Run - View Report in PDF format. 
 
I am using a text element in the footer of the master page with: 
 
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'>this.text = "Page " + pageNumber + " of " + totalPage;</pre>
 
If I have five pages I would expect to see Page 1 of 5, Page 2 of 5 and so on. However instead, I see Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2 and so on. 
 
I even downloaded the example zip from <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/devshare/designing-birt-reports/1159-simple-page-n-of-m/'>"here"</a> and I still get the same results of Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2 etc. 
 
Then I also noticed that Classic cars spans across two pages, both pages being Page 1 of 1. 
 
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

dbmathis, it needs to be generated from it's own run and render task. If you preview the report in the webviewer then export to PDF it'll show correctly in the master page footer. When the report is deployed it should show correctly for you.

However it's still doing the same thing. I am running it from "Run - View Report - PDF". It's still not working there. Then I deployed the report to the actual production env. and it's still doing Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2, Page 3 of 3 etc...

Then the other issue is still happening, which is separate, it seems to be treating two pages as the same page. With the classic cars example file, classic cars spans two pages but they are both number Page 1 of 1. Once the motorcycle group shows up it gets Page 2 of 2.

Any ideas?

If you go to run - view report - webviewer then export the report as a PDF from there does it still happen? Can you post the rptdesign for me?

I think it may be a bug, I found this....

I need a workaround if this is a bug. I tried to create a global variable but I can't seem to access it in the master page footer.

For now it looks like I can use auto text. I will make it work somehow.
