Hi,

Is there a way to protect the report .rptdesign from being accessed. I mean the client should be able to only see the output of the viewer not to download the .rptdesign

This would depend on how the report is expected to be used. 
 
Are end users expected to run the report to receive the output transiently, or is the report to be used to run scheduled jobs on an iServer that the end users need access to, or some other non-covered scenario?

I am deploying BIRT along with a web application using the viewer where my app includes an iframe pointed to the report url. I found a way to disable the direct access to the report via the url but still I am looking for how to prevent the download of the report xml code.
