Png-Chart does not have highlight-series feature like SVG has
Azad Singh
I am aware about the SVG's interactivity feature of Highlight, it actually highlights the series when one clicks on legend/Series.
But please can some1 tell me does this feature is available for PNG as well as?
Thanks!

Hi,
not sure if you know that SVG is not a real picture format. It is more a description of a vector image. One additional feature of that format is to enable the user to have interactivity on different section of the vector image that does not exists in a real picture format.
BIRT tries its best to emulate these functionalities for other formats (like PNG) as well. E.g. for hyperlinks it tries to use HTML imagemaps.
Unfortunately this is a crappy workaround (i think it is the best they can do at the moment). Highlights definitely only work in SVG.
BIRT only tries to emulate hyperlinks and tooltips in other image output formats. These often do not work smoothly if the chart section that the user can click is too small.
In addition interactivity only works for HTML and nowhere else (this is also true for SVG)

Hi cbrel, Thanks for replying. I was bit busy so could not get time to reply on this, but anyway for now I am putting this in lower priority and mentioning it as a Limitation.
