Different data in preview and html/pdf output
birtslash
hi all<br />
<br />
i have no idea what is going wrong here, the data displayed in the html (or pdf) output is not the same as displayed by the previewer.<br />
<br />
in detail, i use a list element (dataset A) and in this list i have a table used as a subreport. this table is inserted in a detail section of the 'parent' list and it uses another dataset B. dataset B uses rows from the dataset A configured via "dataset parameter binding". <br />
it seems that <em class='bbc'>some</em>data in the inner table is null but only if i export to pdf/html. <br />
<br />
my first idea was, some values are set in .rptconfig file (used in preview) which gives me different results, but i set all parameter values to null there, i deleted the config file eventually, but all to no avail.<br />
<br />
how is it possible? any ideas?<br />
<br />
thanks for any help in advance<br />
bartek<br />
<br />
ps. btw i'm using BIRT runtime version 4.2.0 and eclipse indigo and i deactivated the "preview row limits" option

How are your exporting the report? It could be that it needs to be in separate run and render tasks. If that's the case try viewing the report in the webviewer then exporting it to PDF from there instead of going straight to PDF from Eclipse. Can you post the rptdesign?

thank you for your quick response.<br />
<br />
actually i use the eclipse built-in feature "view report > view report as html". the problem mentioned occurs already there. later on, i face exactly the same problem when i create and export the report from a java application using the RunAndRenderTask. <br />
so i'm not sure if separate run and render tasks will help here.<br />
<br />
attached you will find the report design.

ok, here are the screenshots. one for the normal preview and the other one for html (which equals the pdf output).
