Sorting of Date in groups in not happening properly

Hi All,

I have one report which has 5 different sort by fields in the dropdown. Its working fine for all the options except for Maturity Date and Transaction Date. It is treating date as string and sorting it on the basis month alphabetically .. its weird .. the date format that is printed on report is dd-MMM-yyyy.

Please help .. I am struggling with this issue from the last 6 days ..

This will be a hard solution to provide for your report. Without access to your data source no one would be able to problem solve your report if you posted the design.

If you can recreate the problem with the sample data base, you can post the report design and someone may be able to assist you.

The obvious problem is that you have the data formated as a string rather than a date somehow. If you can't recreate the problem with the sample data base, try recreating your report from scratch, and see if you can identify where the problem develops. It might be that the date is formatted as a string in your data source, OR that it sorts fine in a simple report, but at some level of complexity there is a problem.

This is resolved. Changed the type of date from date time to date and got it working. Thanks for your help and time !
