Tables - Auto Summarize and Use these dimensions for new tables ?

Kindly provide details with regards to the use of following options when inserting a table in the report

1) Auto Summarize and
2) Use these dimensions for new tables

Any example / reference would of great help.

Auto summarize simply removes the detail row, for if you were going to just create aggregations over your data to show in the footer.

Use these dimensions for new tables is exactly that. The default values are 3 columns and 1 detail row. If you were to change the values to say 4 and 1 because that's what your normal layout was, that would become the default table layout.
