Avoiding Data Cubes usage in Birt

Hi all,

Is there any way to display data cube data in a tabular format without using Data Cubes??.. currently due to performance issues we are not supposed to use data cubes.. please tell me some solution to avoid usage of data cubes..

If you want to have crosstabs (felxible number of columns and rows) you have to use Data Cubes. If you have no need to have crosstabs in your reports there is no reason for you to use data cubes.

What you can do to improve data cube performance dramatically is to aggregate your data in the database already. There is a checkbox on the first page of the cube builder dialog to let the cube know that the data is already coming in aggregated.
