Chart - Flipped Axis - Dealing with Long Text Labels

Hi All, 
 
I have a bar chart in version 3.7.2 that I must output to PDF (not that I think the output matters). I have the axis flipped and have text labels on the left side. I need to have them word wrapped on 2 lines however I am getting the "This is the label and after about 30 chars...." effect. The labels are being truncated and I can't find an option to prevent this. 
 
Here is what I have in BIRT:

I used chart scriping for the word wrap part but I still get the .... truncated string.

Sorry I missed this. You might be able to increase the spacing between the bars to allow for the longer text. I'll test this on my end and post and example shortly.

Hi kclark,

I need to get rid of the ... so that I manipulate the text with chart scripting. Basically I need to be able to manipulate the full label text and stop it from being auto truncated. Can this be done? I have Googled for hours and have not been able to figure it out.

I was able to force a new line every n characters will the following

Without having the ... but the labels after x characters overlap. I'll post that code when I've got it working too.

Here's the code that I already had, but I couldn't supress the ... Is yours wrapping in the middle of a word or are you taking that into consideration. I got it to wrap the first time but it was splitting words, so I changed to the code below that word wraps rather than character wraps..

I was able to split the label without getting ... and it doesn't split in the middle of the word with the following code.

Thanks for you time on this kclark, however the code does not produce desirable results and the ... is still present. If I can just remove the ..., I think my code will work perfectly. 
 
Any idea why labels are auto truncated? Is this a defect?

I think this is a bug, would you mind <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/reportabug.php'>creating one</a>? The API shows that it should be able to be removed with setEllipsis(). If you set it to 0 then it should not be used, I've also tried to set it to 100 to see if I would get 100 characters and it starts at the same location either way.

So you can reproduce this in the latest version?

Is this a flipped only axis bug or does the issue happen when the axis is not flipped as well?

I was able to reproduce this with 4.2.1 and 4.2.2. I tried with the axis not flipped and I'm still unable to set the ellipsis to 0.

In my report, the x-axis labels are truncated if they are not fitting in the height of the chart, and I my axis labels are just truncated and not even showing ... when truncated. I want to show my label with ... if a label is truncating but my chart is not doing that.
