how to debug reports

Hi all,
my name is giri.plz clarify my doubt.
i want to see the execution process of birt report in a log file.actually my report which consists of cube
is taking so much time,i want to debug this report and find the exact reason behind this(how many times hit is going to database etc).
and i want to put log files in a separte location.where should i modify in report.
please help me.

It depends on what kind of data you're wanting to see in the log file. If you're just wanting to see how many times something has been executed you could set up java.io in your data cube and write to a log file for each method of the datacube or your dataset. fiddler2 is also a good tool that I've used to see the traffic a report creates.<br />
