birt xls problem

trying to open the excel generated by birt getting error as
The file you are trying to open, 'filename.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file.

You have Excel 2010 on your computer (xlsx) and the defaulat BIRT Emmiter exports in the 2003 format (xls). You can just click ok, and open it in 2010 (xlss), no problem.
