i want to have a tree view in my BIRT report. I create the tree view in sql with " "*level || String. 
Level is the depth. 
 
It looks like:

and so on... 
 
My problem is that the names in the report are all onthe left

Can someone help me please? 
I use the newest version of eclipse+birt.

Can you post your rptdesign please? I think once you have the 1, 1.1, 1.2, and so on you should be able to use BirtStr to compare the current value against the last and add the correct spacing.

Your white spaces are being removed and can be restored by changing the Data Element's Format String to Custom, and setting the preset format to "Preserve white spaces".

now in HTML-View is everything fine, but i want it also in .pdf and there is the same problem. Everything is on the left...

I'm using Actuate 11 SP4 Fix1 (based on BIRT 3.7.2) and I don't see the issue with PDF. The PDF output looks the same as HTML; there are spaces in front of the text.

What BIRT version are you using?

Can you generate the .rptdocument and attach it?
