how we can use ForAPI if we need to use simple javascript file?
first step i know there is need to define < script > tag with src and location.
what should be the next step?

You are correct. Once you have the script tag defined in the dct, just provide the js file. It is important to note that the < script > tag also defines where your js file will sit. If you set location="webserver", src should be a URL to your js file and your js file should reside in a URL-addressable location. If location="template-type", your js file should sit within the template type directory at the same level as the datacapture.cfg file that is using it. (ie. templatedata/intranet/weather)
