defrag backing store

Has anyone successfully (or unsuccessfully) defragged the disk that their backing store is on with a tool like Executive Software's Diskeeper? Are there any caveats?

In 4.5.1 it was faster to disable teamsite, move the backing store to another disk, delete the original, then move it back.
