Generating with FormAPI

I'm trying to generate a file from the DCR-Editor automatically, without entering a filename through the GUI.
I saw that there is an FormAPI Function for setting the DCR filename, but I did'nt found an interface for generating files (while reading the whole FormAPI documentation).

Peeking around in th application I found the javascript call "opener.dobuild()" from the fileselector window, while manually generating files. But I think it's generally no good idea to use internals like these.
Is ther an "official" way?
