Is there formatting depending on the value? G Format?

Dear All,

I have been working for a while with the eclipse report designer but I haven't found a way to format numbers depending on their value (I mean automatically changing to exponential notation when required). This is achieved in Java by using %G.

I there something like this in BIRT?

Many thanks,

Maria

Packages.java.text.DecimalFormat("%G")

The above should work in any BIRT expression or script.
