Session variables between reports
canutri

Is it possible to save a session variable to be used later in another report without passing it as a parameter? I've tried setting a session variable using:

reportContext.getHttpServletRequest().setAttribute("companyId", params["rpCompanyId"])

and

reportContext.setPersistentGlobalVariable("companyId", params["rpCompanyId"])

The variables are available later in the current report, but not in a report that linked later - either as an immediate drill-through link or seperate url from the same browser session.

The intent here is to have the user initially provide an employee id (or user name) and company # which will be picked up in later reports to filter content.

Thank you,

Daron

One way you could do this is to use window.name

If you use a text item in your report and switch it to type "html" you could use something like this

You can test this worked by adding another text item and use this script
