<p>BirdBarter,</p><p> </p><p>This is typically due to one of the translog files being corrupted, damaged, or similar.</p><p> </p><p>The first item to check would be to run acverify -vol <volumename> while the iServer is online and the volume is offline if possible.</p><p> </p><p>This would also be a discussion to move to the Actuate Support Customer Forums as it does not directly relate to deploying BIRT reports to the iServer.</p>

<p>thank you for the reply.</p><p> </p><p>I have found the solution on : <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

class="ipsBlockquote"><p> </p><p>It seems as if your <span><a data-ipb='nomediaparse' class="" href='

; encyclopedia is corrupt. The Encyc is made up of 5 folders, of which Translog is one. It is used to store transactions during online backup mode, and all transactions in it will be applied once the Encyclopedia is switched back into normal mode.
There are a few things you can try.
First you have to find your encyc folder. It is in the path [iServer root]/iServer/encyc, typically on windows C:Program FilesActuateiServerEncyc, on UNIX [iServer root]/AcServer/encyc.
1) Make sure the Actuate PMD service is stopped. (In Windows in the Services menu - in UNIX go to the AcServer/bin directory and run <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''>shutdown_srvr.sh</a>)
2) Rename the encyc folder to encyc2
3) Start the Actuate iServer (Windows: Services menu, UNIX: <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''>start_srvr.sh</a>)
4) This will create a blank encyc folder with a new un-corrupted, empty Translog folder in it.
5) Stop the iServer again
6) Rename the encyc folder to encyc-blank
7) Rename the Encyc2 to Encyc and delete the Translog folder
8) Copy the Translog folder from the Encyc-blank to the Encyc folder
9) Restart the iServer
If this still causes errors, you can try stopping the iserver, deleting the translog altogether and starting the iserver
If this does not work, you can try to repair any corruptions using acverify command line utility. It is in the bin folder.
From a dos prompt, go to the bin folder and type: acverify -check all -repair (you might have to specify the volume using the -vol tag.
Hope that helps.
