All,

I am in some desperate need of help. I am on a Solaris 8 box, trying to run a CLT from a script, but it refuses to work. The command does work from telnet...

/usr/iw-home/bin/iwextattr -s TeamSite/Metadata/Title=someterm /.iwmnt/default/main/pwgsc_code/WORKAREA/pwgsc_code/index-f.html

for the life of me it won't run from the script, but it will from the command line..any ideas??

This probably is not causing the problem, but you should be using the VPATH of the file and not the file system path. IE:

/default/main/pwgsc_code/WORKAREA/pwgsc_code/index-f.html
instead of
/.iwmnt/default/main....

Anyway, can you attach the script (or the snipper that calls iwexattr) that you are trying to execute?

Actually the use of the non-caching mount point filesystem path is very likely to cause problems with iwexttattr which does want a vpath and not a filesystem path.

Please try fixing that situation before trying to unravel anything else - in Perl the substitution would look something like this:

$filepath =~ s|^/\.?iwmnt||;
