Passing multiple values to a report parameter from Java
abhijitKol
<p>Dear All,
My requirement is as follows:
"User will choose several column name from UI(JSP page) depending upon his/her requirement.I need to display those selected columns along with data in BIRT report."
I have written one stored procedure which will return the data from backend. I have developed the jsp and JS page. But I am not able to map the selected data with report parameters as user will choose multiple column names as inputs.
How to handle this type of scenarios.
Could you please share one this kind of example.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks in advance.</p><p>abhijit</p>

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>There are a few possible approaches to this problem, but it's not something that BIRT handles particularly well - any solution is going to involve scripting.</p><p> </p><p>To work out the best approach you need to consider the way your data is structured.</p><p>Is there a fixed number of optional columns, or are you unable to know the number of columns at design time?</p><p>Is the data for the columns stored in rows or columns in the database?</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>If the number of columns is known at design time, and the data for them is stored in normal database columns the simplest solution is to create a table that has all the columns in it, then write a script to hide the columns that the user does not select.</p><p>If the number of columns is not known in advance, or the data is stored in rows of a separate table, you should look at my dynamic columns plugin: <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
