Author or Editor Can't Transition Task
jimbrooks
In To Do list, owner of task has "NA" under Operation when logged in as Author or Editor. When same user logs in as Administrator, options appear including successors identified in .wft. Is this expected?

Sounds like the task is not assigned to the user who is logging in. Check the "Assigned To" column. When logging on as an Administrator, TeamSite allows you to work on task in behalf of someone else, i.e. that aren't assigned to you. As Author/Editor you can only work on tasks assigned to you.

Thanks for the response.
The current user is identified under the "Owner" column in the todo list; the DCR attached to the task is writeable by the current user. In fact, for test purposes, I had the same user create and submit the DCR (the WF is triggered by this submit) and then assign that user the first task in the WF. It is this first task where I still have NA under Operation when that user logs in as author or editor, but not when that user logs in as admin.

Hmm, that seems odd. Could you post (as an attachment) the output of iwgetwfobj on that task id?

This is the listing for the workflow, which tells me that task 10767 is active. I assume that's the task where you're seeing NA in the action column. Could you post the output of "iwgetwfobj 10767" as well as the user you're loggin on as?

ok, here's output for the TASK we're concerned about. It's from a different Job, but it is from an id corresponding to the task with NA under the Operation column.

Couple of questions/verifications:
1) Are you logging on as TANG\AL2Author1?
2) Which operations box is showing NA? The one next to the files? or the one next to the whole task?
This task is set to readonly, so you won't have the operations boxes next to the files.

1) yes
2) the one next to the task
i've attached a GIF of the to do list screen

Ahh...check the roles files and make sure that the user's id has the domain name in front of it. Looks like it probably doesn't because the TeamSite UI is reporting the logged in user without the domain.

I saw a post about that before and had checked already, but it IS interesting that the domain is not showing in the top right. Should I restart TeamSite? Is there something else I need to do to make the change in author.uid to COMPLETELY take affect?
jimbrooks
I just needed to prefix my login with TANG\ ... since its the local domain it wasn't necessary for login. argh. Thanks for your time.
