how to call method in text element from file loaded in resource property

<p>I have loaded a javascript file through the resource property.</p><p> </p><p>I need to call them in text element to do the function. Kindly let me know how to do it.</p><p> </p><p>sample.js</p><p> </p><p>function getValue()</p><p>{</p><p>  alert('hi');</p><p>}</p><p> </p><p>How to call this method getVaue() in the text element in the HTML format.</p><p> </p><p>Any references / ideas / sample would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>Included javascript files are run server side. Calling an alert with server side included javascript wont do anything.</p><p> </p><p>If you have javascript you want to include, take a look at either using a Text element set to HTML, and using a <script> include tag, or use the new head.js includes in BIRT 4.3.</p>
