how to compare series in line chart?

<p>Hi,Am currently doing report with line chart with check box option to compare year</p><p> </p><p> </p><div><input type="checkbox" >All</input></div><div><input type="checkbox" >Classic car</input></div><div><input type="checkbox" >motorcycle</input></div><div><input type="checkbox" >planes</input></div><div> </div><div>so if i click <strong>All </strong>option it have to compare all value of year 2012 vs 2013 line chart by dark color for 2013 and light color for 2012 and when All is checked other option to be disable ....</div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">and then if i click over<strong> </strong></span><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Classic car</strong> it have to compare Classic car of </span><span style="font-size:14px;">year 2012 vs 2013 line chart by dark color of 2013 and light color of 2012</span></div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">etc....</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">As a </span><span style="font-size:14px;">beginner of Birt report i could't it have idea to do this report...as anybody worked on this type of report..kindly provide sample db report </span></div><div> </div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size:14px;">Thank u in advance...</span></div>

<p>thank for reply i have seen a link which u provide is useful ..i have attached a image for u r reference i.e in top i have parameter with check-box to compare year by clicking each option..</p><p><strong>for example: </strong></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;">if i click over All of checkbox it have to display line by comparing a year for all data</span></p><p>if i click over classic car of checkbox it have to display line by comparing a year and it have to differentiate year by color too </p><p>like wise for all checkbox..if u provide a sample db its useful to do my report</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>thank u in advance...</p>

<p>Take a look at the example I posted and let me know if that's what you're needing. You'll need to change the URL at line 6 in the onCreate() script of the text item. I used a hidden parameter to do this. Then coded the check boxes in the onCreate() this allowed me to keep the check box "checked" or "unchecked" when the report runs again to update the chart.</p>

<p>First of all thank for u r Effort ..its working as my excepting but one thing is missed up .. i have tried in my way but its showing a null value only...in your case u showed up a category(X-AXIS) by year-wise ..<span style="font-size:14px;">but in my case i have to select a fiscal year it have too decide a year according to that series of Y-AXIS to be show..</span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;">for example:</span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;">i have fixed month on category(x-axis) and two series in Y-AXIS for MRP (2003-2004 </span><span style="font-size:14px;">by fiscal year select)</span><span style="font-size:14px;"> when i click on checkbox of Classic Cars it have to show by comparing a series of (2003,2004) like Before year,this year</span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;">like wise for all checkbox it will go...</span><span style="font-size:14px;">for u r reference i have attached a report......just correct and provide sample report it useful to do my report...</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:14px;">once again thank for Effort....</span></p>
