Migrate RSSE from version 10 to 11

I am new in this forum. Could anyone explain to me what are the steps to migrate existing [color=rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]RSSE (Report Server Security Extension) application from Actuate 10 to Actuate 11?[/color][color=rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]My understanding is that we need to get libraries from Actuate 11 and recompile code. Also replace all the Actuate10 to Actuate11 in codes.[/color] [color=rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]However, after RSSE installation on Actuate11 I couldn't get volume online: [/color] Item: VOLUMES [color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:12px;background-color:rgb(247,247,247);]Error Code: 3165 [/color]

leolcz, The first thing I would suggest doing is to open your source code in an IDE of choice, and then replace all of the v10 jars (built from the WSDL) with those built from the v11 WSDL. This should give you a place to start to review your code and work through all of the compilation errors.

Ryan, Thanks for your reply. I actually got those jar files from Actuate11 server directory (AcServer/servletcontainer/webapps/acrsse/WEB-INF/lib/). I did open source code in IDE and there is no compilation errors. Not sure how to buid from WSDL as you mentioned. Is this necessary? Could you please how to do so? Thank you Leo

Leo, If the files were taken from the version 11 iServer, then it should be all right.To build, I would utilize the program ANT provided by Apache. If there are other errors occurring, I would add additional debugging to the application, and to ensure that the ldapconfig_VolumeName.xml file is present where VolumeName is the name of the volume.

Ryan, Yes, we are using the ANT build script to generate the jar file. Since we are not using LDAP, we don't have ldapconfig but a DB config which has volume name in the file name.

Leo, What is contained in the RSSE log files generated by the iServer, or is it getting far enough for them to get created?

Leo, Yes that would be one appropriate place to review information.Did you see any error messages or exceptions in that log file?You could also set up a SOAP capture as well, which may provide more information on which calls causes the error. At this time, I would suggest contacting Actuate Support and working further towards determining the root cause.
