DataDeploy 5.6 BLOB Insertion

We have recently upgraded from DataDeploy 5.5x to DataDeploy 5.6. Now, all of our BLOBs that were in our DCRs before the upgrade are changed to a group of control characters when rendered with our PHP files.

The control characters saved to the database are:
E5AUHURUWS %E I•A TPPVPW
Please note they are the same for each record. Any old records stored prior to this upgrade are still intact.

Is there a new encoding setting for BLOB columns that I am missing? This application worked fine with the previous version.

Note: We are currently using TeamSite 5.5.2 with all the latest patches and service packs on Solaris.

What database are you using? Could you also notify support about this problem.

We are using Oracle 8.1.7 and I notified support. They told me to change the data type to CLOB and everything worked. However, when changing to CLOB, OCI must be used as the driver because of a bug that limits the data size to <4K when using the thin client.
