hi i am using BIRT 3.7 verison

We have created crosstabs as part of reports , but it is taking very longer time to render it.

please give me some suggestions on how to render very quicky.

Advanced Thanks

How much data are you processing for this crosstab? Are you using a SQL dataset where you could do some of the grouping at the dataset level rather than forcing BIRT to do it? This would probably speed things up.

Hi,

most time is spent on creating the data cube.

The biggest performance improvement can be achieved by grouping the data on the database site. There is a checkbox in the create data cube dialog that can be checked if you are already provide grouped data in the cubes dataset

hi williams,

Thankyou for Quick reply

i am doning grouing in BIRT data cube level only, other than that any other factors are there to improve rendering performance.

Number of levels in your cube and the amount of data that you're aggregating would contribute most to the time. If you can't do your grouping in your dataset, you could always consider limiting the rows/grouping levels returned in your initial report and allowing your users to drill down to a more detailed report that they can expect will take longer to produce. Like cbrell said, most of the time will be spent on the grouping in the data cube. If you can group before the cube gets the data and check the box, that's where you'll find the biggest boost in performance.
