error when saving my oracle querry in 3.7.2 with parameters
boulos
Hello,
I am using birt 3.7.2 with an oracle DB. I am creating a very simple report where the query is "select FIELD1 from TABLE1 where FIELD2 = ?"
When i click on OK to save my query i get an error saying:
"
A BIRT exception occurred.
Plug-in Provider:Eclipse BIRT Project
Plug-in Name:BIRT Data Engine
Plug-in ID:org.eclipse.birt.data
Version:3.7.2.v20120213
Error Code:odaconsumer.CannotGetResultSetMetaData
Error Message:Cannot get the result set metadata.
org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.JDBCException: SQL statement does not return a ResultSet object.
SQL error #1:Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1
;
java.sql.SQLException: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1"
Note that when i replace the '?' by a hardcoded value evthg works fine and i am able to save my query.
Could you please help me?
Regards,
Boulos

<p>You need to create a data set parameter for each "?" that is in your query.</p><p>Then, you need to bind the data set parameter to a report parameter (or give it a default value)</p>
