Extracting report data for building report

<p>Hey...is it possible to generate report data in xml format that can be used to build report.. or can i just get resultset or data from query that can help me to build a report?</p>

<p>Either one is fine. BIRT has datasource connectors for xml and for query statements written against a wide variety of databases.</p>
