Displaying Hyperlinks in BIRT Report tables as alternate text

<p>Hi forum,</p><p> </p><p>I have created a BIRT report which generates a hyperlink (to a virtual directory on a server) as part of its results. Does anyone know if, instead of having the hyperlink come through as <em>http:example.etc, </em>I could get it to come through as something like <em>Click here for link.</em>?</p><p> </p><p>many thanks,</p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>I'm not sure where you're placing the link.  But you could use a dynamic text item set to html and do something like</p><pre class="_prettyXprint">this.text = "<a herf="" + reportContext.getPersistentGlobalVariable("myURL") + "">click here</a>";</pre>
