calculate a report parameter (hidden) based on a previously chosen parameter
thelcd

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a parameter automatically based on user input.

For example, the user will select a date parameter and the month+1 will be calculated from the list box.

A query is then executed based on the month > input_choice and < calculated_param.

I'm wondering how to do this..,

it seems that when the report is executed the parameter is not "linked" to the user choice....

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

I wouldn't create two parameters for this. You can bind the same report parameter to two different data set parameters. You can then add the month in the query:

select *

from table

where data_column between p_date_param and add_months(p_date_param, 1)

The add_months function is how it is done in an Oracle database, not sure how it is done in other databases
