Getting dataset for updating database
<p>[color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]Hi All,[/color]</p><p> </p><p><span>I'm newbie here using Birt 3.7.0 and postgresql(v8.4).</span></p><p><span>what I'd like to do is</span></p><p> </p><p><span>1. <strong>Set multiple global variables based on each dataset.</strong></span></p><p><strong><span> and if I press the button, those global variables make an object or sql statement</span></strong></p><p><strong><span> for insert/update the database </span></strong></p><p><span> but I don't know the script </span>[color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]syntax [/color][color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;]to get those multiple dataset rows[/color]</p><p>[color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;] for making list object and which method should I use.[/color]</p><p>[color=rgb(0,0,0);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;] (want to see the resultsets in script object like excel export function)[/color]</p><p> can anybody give me an example for this?</p><p> </p><p><span>2. <strong>Update database</strong></span></p><p> <span>does maximo also work with postgresql?</span></p><p> if not, how can I execute insert/update sql statement in reportdesign?</p><p> </p><p>3. <strong>Debugging</strong></p><p> is there any way to debug or check current global variables or parameters?</p><p> just like System.out.println(); or alert(); that prints something</p><p> </p><p><span>Thanks for any help.</span></p>
