Trying to change master page header from a group

<p>Hello,</p><p> </p><p>I'm trying to set a value in my master page header from a group in my report. To do this I've tried setting a global variable (I've tried a page variable too) from the onCreate() in the item and then showing it in the header.</p><p> </p><p>Unfortunately, there seems to be an ordering problem. The value gets set, but is only available to the page <strong>after</strong> the one that the variable was set on. It looks like the onCreate() is setting the variable after the master page header has been created, so it is set for the next page, but no the current one.</p><p> </p><p>As an example: If the variable was set to "a" on page 1, then the header will show nothing on page one and "a" on page two.</p><p> </p><p>Is there a way to get a report table/group value to show up in master page header for the page it is on?</p><p> </p><p>Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.</p><p> </p><p>Cheers,</p><p> </p><p>Dave</p>

<p>Take a look at <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/forum/index.php?/topic/30442-grouping-dynamic-master-page-header/'>this post</a>, he wanted to do something similar where the header in the master page would match the group.  Let me know if you need any help </p>
