How to skip the parameter dialog?
BFC

Currently when the parameter dialog icon is clicked, the parameter dialog is displayed with the values from the previous request. If the user wants to refresh the report with the same parameter values, he is forced to click okay. Is there a way to skip the dialog? As an example, the user would click on a "Refresh" menu icon, and the report with be recreated with the last parameters from the parameter dialog. There would not be a dialog and user would not have to click on anything except "Refresh".

Birt 3.7.2

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

as far as I know, it's not possible.

You can use default value, or function to get the parameter value, but if the "hidden" option is not checked, than you will always have the parameter dialog.

The only way I can think of to do this is two have two of the same report. One with hidden parameters and one with required parameters. Then when you click the refresh link you can pass the values to hidden-params-copy.rptdesign and if you know based on whatever logic you want to implement that the parameters need to be displayed then you can send them to required-params-copy.rptdesign
