How to use multiple groups in a single table
Gangadhar

I am new to birt reporting. We need a report that displays data grouped by two different fields in a single report. We are able to show the data by individual group but not able to design the multi-grouped data(arbitrary groups).

Here is the example

Table:

Company Product Service Price

C1 P1 S1 $1

P2 S2 $2

C1 P1 S1 $3

P2 S2 $4

And we need a report something like this...

Company

C1

Product Price

P1 $4

P2 $6

Service Price

S1 $4

S2 $6

C2

Product Price

P1 $4

P2 $6

Service Price

S1 $4

S2 $6

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

If your data source is a SQL data base, you could write a query like this:

SELECT company, 'product' as type, product as product_or_service, priceFROM your_tableUNION ALLSELECT company, 'service' as type, service as product_or_service, priceFROM your_table

Then you can create a table with 3 groups:

company - type - product_or_service
