How to dynamically control parameter visibility

If the value of param1 is 'B', I want param2Color to be hidden and I want param3Size to be displayed as a drop-down. I think there are two ways to approach this. You could write a report for each situation, and in your Java application, depending on what your data is render with the correct report design. The other way is to use the Design Engine API to open the rptdesign, check the parameters, make the changes that you need to the parameters and then render the report/send the user to it.
