Sum data on report

hi am developing a java web application on myeclipse for spring. (using primefaces 4.0/js2.0/spring)am generating scripted report using birt. well i have a query retrieving a list of data from DB. i want to sum all these data on my report.. how do i do this? can someone help?

You can use an aggregation item. Are you wanting to sum the data in the footer of a table?

yes in footer. can you give me an example how to do this aggregate?

Take a look at my example. I made a simple table that's grouped on customer number and set the page break after to always. To create the aggregation I dragged the aggregation item over from the palette and placed it in the footer. From the aggregation UI you can choose what field you want to aggregate on.
