Dynamic loading image from REST

Hi! I'm trying to design a table but it's not quite simple. All columns except one are taken from JDBC datasource. The last column should be an image that could be reached only via REST service. Something like this:<img src='http://habrastorage.org/storage3/294/df3/aa4/294df3aa44d30a785657b5bcd85fcf91.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />I tried already to make requests from javascript (e.g., XmlHttpRequest) but did not succeeded. Any ideas? Many thanks!

How are you making the table if the other data sources are JDBC? How many data sources do you have? You might be able to simplify your report by creating a scripted data source and getting all the data there and putting it in the scripted data set. You should also be able to pull back your image in the scripted data set. Do you have any sample data I can look at or an example report?

Would something like this work... add an image from the designer palette to the table in the column you want and enter a dummy URI in the dialog box. Then in the onCreate event of the image add the following script this.URI = "whatever the URI you are looking for"

The solution step by step is:1. Get your file on server.2. Form Response (e.g., HttpServletResponse in my case)2.1. Set content length to be your file length2.2. Set content type to be an image (e.g. "image/jpeg")2.3. Set content disposition header ("Content-Disposition: inline; filename="myimage.jpg"")3. Stream file to response output stream4. In the BIRT report just put this.URL = "link.to.your.mapped.url" P.S. Be aware of security holes
