Mailing Option in Birt report

<p>Hello,</p><p> </p><p>Am trying to develop a report where in there should be option to send mail.</p><p> </p><p>i.e. when i click on particular label which is a hyperlink(particularly in the footer section of master page), it should open a new mail pop up which links to outlook, and sender mail id is present.</p><p> </p><p>can anyone tell me if there is a way to do this?</p><p> </p><p>Thank you.</p>

<p>Are you using commercial or open source BIRT?  I think there is an option for this in commercial.  If you're using open source you could use something like this for your link:</p><pre class="_prettyXprint"><a href="mailto:someEmail@domain.com&attachment=pathtoreport></pre><p>You'd have to make sure the report has been created first.  You could create a hyperlink that uses the REAPI to render the report then send the user to the mailto address using window.location or something like that since you'd know where the report is at that time.</p>
