Customizing visualformat/XP crash

Hi,
1. I'd like to know if there is any way to change behavior of
jshyperlink button on visualformat so it can select links from STAGING rather than normal workarea.

2. Does anyone knows how to fix visual format from crashing on windows xp/internet explorer 6.0 ? We have installed the patch for this version and updated clients plugin, but it continues to crash (after patch, you can open dcr, but crashes when you close the window).

I don't have an answer, but if its helpful to know, we've experienced the same crashing behavior (with IE6.0 and IE5.5 on a variety of operating systems).

Do the templates that crash have more than one VFE in them or replicant that contain VFE-enabled fields? I remember this being some kind of problem. If so you might be able to implement multi-page templates or use the CGI callout for the VFE instead of embedding it directly in the template.

well, it happens no matter if we use only one vf area or many, even when we have all the visual-format calls configured with external-editor-inline="f"..

What about the visual format issue? does anyone knows anything?

Hi All,

This is a problem that Microsoft created when launched a security patch for both Explorer 5.5 and 6.0. The Solution for that is described on the knowladge base case 49116.
