Assign default values to parameters as empty strings

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>I am trying to assign the default values to required parameters through Birt Designer.</p><p> </p><p>I have tried '' and new String(''); </p><p> </p><p>But both of them do not work.</p><p> </p><p>Can anyone suggest what could be a possible way to assign non-null but empty string values, so that it does not appear in the UI?</p><p> </p><p>I am using BIRT 4.3, Jboss Server.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks and Regards,</p><p>-Shaunak</p>

It doesn't appear that you can do this. You might be able to handle this by doing a custom parameter page, though I've not tried it. Deselecting "is required" isn't an option for you?
