Cell Background Image and Report DPI
lotusman

Hi,

I am trying to set an image into the background of a cell (table or grid) and then overlaying that with another table to be able to align text on top of the image. That I have done before. My issue now is that the background image appears to be ignoring the DPI set for the report (exporting to PDF).

I have increased the report DPI to 300 to allow high quality images on some other pages of the report, and had expected the background images to be treated similarly, but they don't seem to take in the DPI setting and just display excessively large. The image is 2619x3111, which at 300 dpi fits onto the page without issue inside an image element, but when put as a background image, the dpi is being ignored and your only see a small portion of the image.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is this the expected functionality? Is there a way around this? I would expect all images to be treated the same, whether in image elements or elsewhere.

Thanks

I think I answered my own question in the end. Turns out the DPI of the image is important for the background images. If set correctly it comes out correctly.

What did you have to set the DPI to?
