OpenDeploy - DataDeploy integration
pvpkumar
Our system requirement is to have OpenDeploy deploy XML data file into a taget host (which has both OD base and DataDeploy) and then DataDeploy convert the XML data into a database.
Can anybody suggest a best approach for this scenario. Is it that I will call the datadeploy run command from opendeployment or is there any OD-DD integration for this to make an automatic promotion. Any example for this case ?

Please take a look under OpenDeployNG/solutions/ddsync, and in the OD 551 Admin Guide p.97 or OD 56 Installation & Reference Guide p.93. There you'll find info regarding synchronized deployments using OD and DD; this essentially means file assets can be transactionally deployed along with database assets (i.e., XML-based structured content that gets mapped into a database.) Basic idea is that a DNR is used to kick off DD during the OD deployment process.
There have also been several related discussion threads on this board that you may want to check out.

A quick question on this. Do I need to have base server on the target machine also to integrate with DataDeploy. I want to start DD install on target machine after the OD deployment is complete and I have OD receiver only on target machine

An OD Receiver on the target box is sufficient.
