Display the selected group children in a GRID.

I am new to the BIRT report. I want to do the following Grouping in BIRT report. I have the following situation. Look at this image first(sorry,i am not allowed to post the image here). <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://imgur.com/Ki5VDNU'>http://imgur.com/Ki5VDNU</a> I have nested grouping. When click the parent (PARENT) element in group it shows its children(like Child A1, etc..). Ex: Child 1 Parent Child 2 then click the child (Child A1) of parent it shows the child of parent child1 element. Ex: Child 1A Child 1 child 1B Now what i want i) When click Parent to display the Child 1 and Child 2 in Grid A. ii) when the Child 1 is clicked, display the Child 1A and Child 1B in Grid B and after that Grid A shows only current clicked child that is Child 1 . Hi,is it a drill- through report you want to have ? Example:Report : click on Grand-parent -> Run and open a report with Parent : Click on Parent -> Run report and open with child... Or something more like a dynamic tree-view ?

Hi GLO FR, First thanks for your reply. i Want like nested grouping. Really i don't know how to do it. I sit with this bug in last 10 hours but no improvements. I explain clearly Initially i want to show all the reports like page view(i got success). 1) When come to grouping it is a nested grouping when i click Grand parent i want to show the Grand parent children(ex Grand Parent CHILD 1, etc...) in a GRID(named as grand parent grid). 2) When Grand Parent Child 1 is click i want to show the Grand Parent Grid(shows only Grand Parent CHILD 1) with New Grid(name as parent grid with childs like Parent child 1,parent child 2....). You can achieve this inside a report using JavaScript.[/color]What you're looking for is more a dashboard vizualisation than a report. You still have drill trough option or cascading parameter.With cascading parameters, the thing is that you've to know how many level of hierarchie do you have before designing.

Hi GLO FR, Thanks for reply. Please provide any sample if you have. And one more how to write a java script for this (don't mistake me very new to BIRT). Please provide any sample or reference using javascript like my expectation. In below sample i would like to do 1) When click the country name it shown all the details(like how many children it has). 2) when click the code(Ex : 10021) that particular code(Ex : 10021) details only shown(FILTER) in report. other code details should not needed.

Hi GLO FR, Thanks for your attached rpt design it works fine but i am not looking like that i want more interactive. So there is no way to do like mine or is it possible. Your reference link is not work.

As I said, there is two ways to do it : drill through with hyperlink (more or less the example I uploaded) already present in BIRT, or specific coding (i.e. JavaScript or java).

I don't want to do hyperlink. I am plan to go with Java script. Can you guide me because it is different from normal Java script. Last three days struggle with this really feel bad. Thanks.

Take a look at the attached example I modified from the example you sent me. The original table on top is hidden and I created a new table that mimicks it to show how you can achieve what you're wanting. Be sure to run it in HTML, not the web viewer.

It's still pretty rough, but functional. Let me know if it helps you out.
