Making customized web portal to call and show BIRT reports

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>I am trying to build a dashboard which our intranet users can use to access Actuate BIRT reports as well as existing e Reports (rox) published in iServer (11SP4). </p><p> </p><p>1) I thought of creating a dashboard available in iPortal of Actuate, but received a feedback from one of your consultants that the dashboard is pretty personal to every user so, if a developer tries to build a common dashboard, every end user should be educated on how to embed or incorporate the common dashboard in their information console once they log in and view the same in their respective portals. My question is if this is so, can anyone please tell me the exact use of BIRT dashboard or its purpose and situations where it could be used.</p><p> </p><p>2) The alternate way suggested is to build a customized web portal where the users will login and call BIRT reports by clicking buttons, when the reports would be displayed and available for execution on the web page itself. To build this, I want to know the BIRT architecture and web server details we can use to include this feature or start with the development.
