Birt 4.2 bad performance on Oracle Linux and java 7
gonzaca

Hi,
we have a web application that uses Birt to generate a PDF report. When we have diferent users generating reports at the same time, Birt takes a long time to generate the reports (20 concurrent users - 40 seconds per report). The generated report has only 3 pages and we have a singleton to reuse the engine. The report receives a XML as entry. We have observed that with concurrence, the 2 CPUs of the server are 100% occupied.

The environment used is Jboss AS 7.1.1, Java 7 and Oracle Linux 6.5 as operating system. The server where the report is generated has 2 CPU and 2 GB of RAM and Jboss 7 is starting with the following memory configuration: -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m

Do you know what is the problem?

Thanks

What is the CPU usage before running BIRT? What about if you run just one report at a time? What all processes does this machine take care of in the generation process? Is the data local as well?
