Cross Tab and Date function

<p>I'm new to BIRT reporting tool, i come from BO background. so please bare with my simple questions.</p><p> </p><p>I'm creating a sample cross tab report, i need help to use distinct MonthYear out of date value and use break on Status value</p><p> </p><p>Example</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Product Name Status Jan,2014 Feb,2014 March,2014</p><p> </p><p>abcd Shipped 20 10 40</p><p> </p><p>XYZ Cancelled 80 75 65</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>column: Order Date has values (01/14/2014,01/20/2014,02/06/2014,etc)</p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>It seems to me that a simple crosstab can accomplish what you want. In the attached example, I have created a cube with 2 dimensions: Date as Year/Month, and ProductName/Status. The crosstab uses these two dimensions to count the number of orders.</p><p> </p><p>Is this what you are looking for?</p><p> </p><p>Regards,</p><p> </p><p>P.</p>

<p>Thanks much Pricher for quick response. the way cross tab is summing up for year and we can drill down to months for that year. i was expecting to show results in one row for every month/Year( Jan/2014, Feb/2014,etc) instead we have 2014 and drill down for each month.</p><p> </p><p>anyways thanks much.</p>

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>There are two suggestions, please try both separately,</p><p> </p><p>> Change the Report layout in property editor from 'Fixed layout' to 'Auto Layout'</p><p>> In the Master page , change the orientation from Auto to Landscape</p>

<p>If you know that you have data only for one year, you can choose "month" only when you define the grouping on your date field. This way, you can create a cross-tab with only the months as column heading.</p><p> </p><p>The attachment has a modified design of the previous report.</p><p> </p><p>Hope this helps!</p><p> </p><p>P.</p>
