How to hide column in crosstab where the header is empty?

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>So the problem is that i have two data sets and one joint data set (full outer join). When i create a crosstab based on the joint set I get this empty column to the crosstab because of the join.</p><p> </p><p>The crosstab looks like this:</p><p> </p><p><img src='http://s8.postimg.org/hwbct8net/Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></p><p> </p><p>I want to hide/delete the column which has no header.</p><p> </p><p>I have a script where I can find the header with no data in it, but I want to DELETE the whole column (all the cells below that header cell also)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>script:</p><div>function onCreateCell( cellInst, reportContext )</div><div>{</div><div>if( cellInst.getCellType() == "header" )</div><div>{</div><div>if( reportContext.evaluate("dimension") == "" )</div><div>{</div><div> *something here to delete the whole column???*</div><div>}</div><div>}</div><div>}</div>

<p>So you do a full outer join and then you want to get rid of the null records generated by the outer join?</p><p>Why don't you just make it a LEFT (or RIGHT or maybe even INNER depending on your needs) join?</p>

<p>The "useless" column stays still even if I do just LEFT join... Is this kind of column removal really that hard to do with birt? :S I must do something wrong here...</p>

<p>In a crosstab the columns are defined by records in your dataset.</p><p>So if you look at the results of your query, there must be an empty record in it, one that should not be in your selection.</p><p> </p><p>What happens if you just do an INNER join?</p><p>Are you missing any data then?</p>
