<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>I am creating report in 4.3.1.</p><p>I am fetching date value column from a table,it can be null value but when i am trying to show it as ' ' (if the value is null) ,it displays ' '(blank space).</p><p>I am using MS SQL SERVER 2008 .</p><p>If i dont use ' ' it shows default value as 01-jan-1.</p><p>So in order to avoid displaying default value (01-jan-1) i am showing as ' '. For this i followed the steps given below:</p><p> </p><p>clicked on group which is made by date column( i am creating it using crosstab)-->edit-->Group and Summaries-->went to date column in Group and Summaries-->selected date column ---> clicked on edit--> changed data type to String.</p><p> </p><p>So using above steps i was able to show ' ',my report is also getting generated but it shows error below my crosstab.</p><p> </p><p> The error is :</p><p> </p><p><span>- </span>Can not convert the value of to java.sql.Date type. </p><p> </p><p>org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.EngineException: Can not convert the value of to java.sql.Date type.</p><p>.</p><p>.</p><p>.</p><p>Caused by: javax.olap.OLAPException: Can not convert the value of to java.sql.Date type.
