BIRT VIEWER INTEGRATION WITH RCP application

<p>We are looking to integrate BIRT with one of the  third party RCP application. Application is three tier base architechture. Applicationserver run on server pool connection We are looking to create our own data source for BIRT Repor. But we are not clear how best we can integrate the BIRT. Following option we are exploring.</p><p> </p><p>1) Integrate Report Engine at RCP client. By having Report Engine plugin as a part of client and running report in client side inside RCP application.  But this will make client too heavy and possible require more memory in each client machine to execute reports.</p><p> </p><p>2) Second to deploy report engine in server and viewer in RCP client. Here we are not clear in term of integration. We required report to be run on same user session under which request is sent by client RCP Application. Any suggestion will help on this.</p><p> </p><p>Also we tried first option by putting all Report Engine plugin in RCP plugin folder and call engine api through custom code. It compile well but during debug time it give error on registry. Please note we are trying to integrate third party RCP application, hence required to go through there API and extention mechanism. Any suggestion on how to resolve it will be also appriciated.</p>
