Birt Report for BPMN-Model
HaroonMahmood

i am new to BIRT and have some difficulties in generating reports for BPMN-Models. What i am doing is that i have BPMN-models in .bpmx files and i am extracting required data from these files. The number of data sources is variable (it could be one data source or more than one lets say 2, 3, or 5 data sources). For my report i have made a joint data set (which is combination of 12 data sets) and joined all data sets by using FULL OUTER JOIN and i am giving my data sources at run time by using (Modelling Perspective -> RUN-> Report -> Report Configurations). In report Layout i am using a GRID and a Table in Grid Cell and data set columns are all in Table. I have put the columns in this sequence: Collaboration, CallActivity, StartEvent, DataInput, DataOutput, Diagramm, Tasks and so on. But when the report is generated as PDF the sequence of columns is not the same as i put in table + there are lots of empty spaces/lines in the generated repoort.
Could you pls tell me what i am doing wrong and how can i fix my problem?

Is it only for PDF? Are you generating this directly has PDF from the designer or are you going from the Web Viewer -> PDF?

From the sounds of it, your joins leave lots of blank spaces for certain columns, so when you're looking at your report, some of the fields are missing causing them to appear to not be in the correct order. If you preview the data in your final dataset, do you have lots of empty fields?
